Scottish Micro Moth Distribution Maps
Compiled by Mark Cubitt
The table of micro moth families on this page lists those recorded in Scotland. Clicking on a family name link will display a page with a table listing the species within that family recorded in Scotland. Below the table is a list of micro moth species; the species names are links to the species on the respective family page. The browser Edit> Find function can be used to search for a species in this list.
Data at the Vice County level has been supplied by Dr Mark Young in collaboration with Tony Davis. The list is provisional and may contain some errors and Mark would welcome any comments about this from anyone finding such errors. New Vice County records are published in the Annual Microlepidoptera Review, which appears each year in the Entomologists Record journal. Further
updates will be made periodically based on new records which are submitted to Mark Young by the CMR.
Ten km square level maps are also included for most species, but whether there are any records in the NMRS for these is quite variable. Similarly for the 10k change maps the amount of historical data varies by vice county and careful interpretation of the maps is needed. How recent the data is for each VC is summarised in this map.
