It looks like an Orthosia rather than a Chestnut which have a 'squarer' outer edge of the forewing. I think that it must be a Clouded Drab, but it is quite worn.

I found myself wondering about the possibility of a very worn Red Chestnut. There are some pretty featureless images of this species on the internet but I can't convince myself.

Yes, the colour of the moth made me consider it too. However, Red Chestnut wingshape is quite distinct and looks unlike this moth?
