Good in sun spots out of wind at Torness today.
Orange Tip, Green Veined White, Peacock, Small Tortoiseshell and 1 Wall .
Watched an egg laying Small Tort.

A Speckled Wood just SE of Amisfield Walled Garden, Haddington today.

Yesterday I counted 11 Peacocks at Pressmennan Wood.

This morning (before it clouded over) along the Tyne near Beanston 2 male and 1 female OT, 2 GV Whites and a Peacock.

Orange Tip female in my Macmerry garden today just as I set out via Greendykes,Chesterhall,St.Germains,Blindwells and Adniston.
Orange Tips regular all the way.
Peacock,Green Veined White and Small Tortoiseshell also common ,in that order.
Possible new site for Speckled Wood,one at Adniston farm cottages.

Wow, loads of records coming in. I haven't been paying attention given the cool weather!!

The Adniston Speckled Wood nicely fills a gap in the distribution map!!

Two male orange tips and a small tortoiseshell at entrance to Thorntonloch car park, also another batch of small tort eggs

Good news George. Maybe we will be overrun with Small Tortoiseshells later in the year!

It has been a bit quiet over these last few days. Hopefully things will pick up when it warms up next week.
