Postby MNisbet » Mon 17 Apr 2017 21:12

Only seen 2 butterflies so far this month - a peacock butterfly in my garden (near King's Buildings) on 8 April and a Small Tortoiseshell on a path in the Hermitage of Braid next to Midmar Allotments on 10 April.

It has gone a little quiet over these last few days. Hopefully as soon as it starts to warm up we will be inundated with all sort of species!

NB Linn Dean SWT reserve (Soutra) is usually reliable for green hairstreak, also seen at saltoun wood (near west saltoun)

Witchcraig hill above the Korean War Memorial (NS989728) south of Linlithgow can be good in right weather conditions for Green Hairstreak.
