My first sightings of butterflies this year - a peacock at Midmar Paddock (Hermitage of Braid) on Sunday 26 March, and a Small Tortoiseshell at Craiglockhart Pond yesterday 27 March - unfortunately no photos.

It has been a great few days. Interesting that there seem to be plenty of Commas about even though they were so rare last year. Even the Small Torts seem to be more numerous than late last summer. I wonder if a lot of them went into hibernation early?
