Dart

I've been puzzling over this rather worn moth (in my Kincardine garden trap last night) and the closest I can get seems to be White-line Dart but I'm far from convinced. Does it look like that species (or anything else!)? From the Atlas, White-line Dart would be a marginal record for NS98.

Hi Don
I'd say it looks like Flounced Rustic, I'm afraid.

Thanks for your useful input, Mark. You could well be right.
In the hand, the dark arrowhead surrounding the oval stood out as the main feature and that in combination with the dark leading edge pushed me towards White-line Dart - though, as I said, I was far from convinced. It was very worn and I think it will go down in my records as 'unidentified'.
