If you have seen a Butterfly or Moth you can't put a name to then post a photo of it here and we'll try and identify it for you.

Longhorn...Adela sp...possibly?

Hi all,
Still looking to identify this Longhorn (second photo down)...got me stumped. There were 2 of these dogfighting in tall grasses by a track at the foot of the Eildon Hills near Melrose today...I have seen some Longhorns before...but this...I just do not know...some help needed, meanwhile I shall just keep looking.
Also attached, a caterpillar same location...I should be able to find this somewhere..I am sure I have seen it before...anyone else? Just added this plume...Platyptilia pallidactyla....possibly....best match...a lot more plume species than meets the eye...same location, grassland Eildon Hills, Melrose.

Thanks for your help in anticipation.

Iain.

Hi all,
Small black micro...second snap....fairly convinced that this is Nemophora Minimella. Everthing seems to fit nicely. With its size probably not recorded to often.

Plume is very much what I think it is.

I have still not tracked down the Cat id yet.
