Saw this moth at Aberlady yesterday - can someone put a name to it?

Hi MalQ,
I have seen quite a few of these this year in all types of habitat. They seem to be easily disturbed. And when disturbed from cover usually go about nectaring for a while before returning to cover. My idea is that they are Middle Barred Minor.... open to question....as your photo is not at the greatest of angles....however...my neck is well and truly stuck out. Middle Barred Minor....below is one I photographed at the end of June at Seahouse south of Berwick Upon Tweed nectaring openly on Thyme.

Thanks for sticking your neck out!

The moth in your photo does look very similar, and the Googled images I looked at seem to back up your ID.

I should have tried to get a photo that was more useful for ID purposes, but I was too busy trying to get a more interesting viewpoint :geek:
