Angle Shades

Having only recorded the occasional Winter Moth for the last few weeks, it was a nice surprise to find an Angle Shades in the trap this morning, albeit a rather faded one. A new species for my Kincardine garden list.

Nice moth! I watched one fly into the trap in the autumn - it looked so much bigger before it folded it wings away into that distinctive shape - previously only seen them sitting. I have only tried the trap a couple of times in the last few months with very little to show for it.
