East Lothian Sightings - May 2020

3 Small Coppers and a couple of Small Heaths near Gullane (during my cycle home from work on the warmest/sunniest day of the year so far). Also loads of Orange-tips and a few Small Tortoiseshells, Green-veined Whites and Peacocks. 3 Speckled Woods seen in Gullane Bents/Jamie's Neuk during a lockdown exercise walk yesterday (5th)

Not quite such variety here yet but had my first two Small Whites (coupled) yesterday south of Macmerry.
Also my first two Speckled Wood of the year nearby.

I haven't seen much myself either. I am out and about in East Lothian once a week checking on the countryside sites, but sadly they don't include the normal butterfly hot spots I would like to visit. Plenty of records coming in from volunteers from their gardens, or their daily exercise, though.
