First for me today - peacock at Battleby. My first last year was Feb 27th

Excellent! I haven't had any official butterflies yet. I've had a Small Tortoiseshell appear in the house and three Peacocks in my log pile.
A neighbour has had more than 20 Small Tortoiseshells in his house this winter. I told him to put them in his shed and he reports that they are all still there. He has never known this to happen before!

Fantastic. Is that the first East Lothian record of the year? (Not sure where you live!). It was 13 degrees up in Garvald this morning, but I didn't see any butterflies!

One Peacock out of hibernation in Eyemouth on 22 January - it looked as though it had made a mistake though.
