East Lothian Sightings - Sept 2019

After 10 days away (during which I saw only 2 butterflies in a week in Kinlochleven!) the make-up and proportions of the butterflies seen on my morning rounds in Longniddry have significantly changed again. In today's lovely autumnal sunshine I counted: 12 Painted Ladies, 11 Red Admirals, 9 Speckled Woods, 4 Small Tortoiseshells, a single Small White and not even one Peacock.
