Welcome back Briart!!

I was down in the Borders again this weekend and I haven't yet seen a butterfly along the Yarrow Valley yet. It seems to be that little bit cooler down there.
Meanwhile, Abbie was at a garden centre near Longniddry where she was seven Peacocks, two Small Tortoiseshells and two Green-veined Whites. The first I have heard of in East Lothian this year. :D

I was out of the office all day today and rather disappointed that there didn't appear to be any butterflies around. After lunch I took myself off to a sheltered, sunny spot, but of course a grey cloud came over. However, I noticed an Orange Tip roosting on a flower next to the path. I waited a while and when the sun came out it opened up its wings and then flew off. A little later I saw a Peacock, but that was all that I saw on what seemed like a reasonable day to look for butterflies!
I hear that an Orange Tip was also seen in Haddington today.
