Borders sightings October 2018

I counted scores of small coppers at St Abbs NNR back in July and pleasantly surprised yesterday to see several during a sunny walk around the reserve. Plus a solitary flyby white.

Isn't it unusual to see small coppers this time of year? Or maybe I've mistaken them for another butterfly species.

Yes, this year has been unusual in that we have had a few late records of Small Coppers. Did you see your one recently? I am sure Iain Cowe will be pleased to receive the record.
