Clouded Yellow

Postby IAC » Tue 15 May 2018 06:20

Yesterday on Burnmouth shore a Clouded Yellow flew right by me, not stopping, flying north. Seeing that bright yellow against a blue sky was a bit weird. I did hover over the fact this this may also have been Brimstone, however, this was one was flying pretty strongly, fairly direct and reminded me very much of Large White, only having been dipped into a pot of luminous paint. :D I don't expect to see any more, but you just never know. Eyes peeled. :)

That's exciting Iain. If it was a Clouded Yellow the black on the edges of the wings would be quite apparent as it flew past. Of course the Brimstone wouldn't have any black on it.
I will have to keep my eyes open for it in case it has stopped here!
