Saw my first butterfly of 2018 yesterday (Sat 24th) - a Peacock enjoying the sunshine in Stevenson Park, Longniddry in the middle of the day.
24th March is my latest "first butterfly of the year" in East Lothian since 2008

Last Saturday seemed to be a (relatively) good day. Peacocks were seen near Longniddry and at Traprain Law - one at each site. The ranger saw a Peacock at Levenhall earlier in March, but that is all I have heard of this month in East Lothian. I haven't managed to see anything myself yet and it doesn't look as though there will be any chance for the remaining two days of the month!
