Lots around at Barns Ness today. At least 20 red admiral, half a dozen peacocks, 4 or 5 small white and a speckled wood (and a stoat).

We seem to be almost overrun with Red Admirals and Speckled Woods at the moment. It is strange to think that a few years ago there were no Speckled Woods here and Red Admirals were quite rare!
I even saw a Red Admiral flying today in the gloom!
George,
My Red Admirals emerged on 22nd and 24th September, each after 28 days. Abbie's emerged a couple of days later, with the first two also being chrysalises for 28 days. I think she still has one that hasn't emerged yet.
