A very likely Timothy Tortrix Moth Cat.

Love the Copper shot. A nice fresh one. Hard to find at this stage.

Blackford Hill - 3-4 Ringlet all in the same small area near the path from Observatory Road to Blackford Pond. Rather windy Midmar area - nothing seen there.

Had my first Meadow Brown of the year today in Holyrood Park. It was near Hutton's Section, along with a Common Blue and my first Grayling of the year. Plenty of Ringlets now.

No NBAs today but had 2 yesterday at the usual spot on Queen's Drive along with a Wall Brown - my first ever for Edinburgh.

Hi,
We think your caterpillar is that of the Tortrix moth Aphelia paleana. ...
Thanks to the Internet searching ability of my teenage daughter, Rebecca, cross-checked with the Field guide to the micromoths of GB and Ireland (Sterling & Parsons).
The caterpillar is much prettier than its parents!
Sheila :)
